 නැවුම් හැළියක් ගෙන සහල්, කෙසෙල්, උක්, අඹ ‍කොළ සැරසිලි, ළපටි  ඉඟුරු, තැඹිලි සහ කහ මුසුවූ මියුරස සපිරි තෛපොංගල් සමරන ඔබට මාගේ සුබ පැතුම්! පොංගල් පිසිමින්, අළුත් ඇඳුම්වලින් සැරසී ‍කෝවිල් වන්දනාවේ යෙදෙන අපේ ජනතාව සතුටෙන් පොංගල් සමරති.

“ඉපැරණි දේ ඉවත් වී නැවුම් දේ ලඟා වේ” යන පරමාර්ථයෙන්, උතුරු නැගෙනහිර අප ආරම්භ කළ සංවර්ධනය නවතා දමා, කෘෂිකර්මයට කිසිදු ඵලක් ගෙන නොදෙන මෙම රජය ඉවත්කර,‍ “තෛපොංගල් උදාව නවමු මං පහදයි” යන මුතුන්මිත්තන්ගේ කියමනට අනුව මෙම නව  වසර අප ‍රටේ සියලු ජනතා‍වගේ ජීවිත අසිරිමත්වන වසරක් වනු ඇතැයි කිසිදු සැකයක් නැත. නව චින්තනයන් සහ නැවුම් උත්සාහයන්  සමගින් උදාවූ නව වසර තුළ  විශ්වාසයෙන් සැමගේ ජීවිත සහ සිත් තුළ  සතුට පිරෙන්නට ‍මෙම පොංගල් උත්සවය සමරමු.

අපගේ කෘෂිකාර්මික  රටේ වත්මන් රජය කෘෂිකර්මය වෙනුවෙන් අප  ලබා දුන් සහනාධාරය  නතර කළ අතර වී මිල අඩු කරමින් ගොවියන්ටත්, සහල් මිල ඉතිහාසයේ  කිසිදා නොතිබුනු ආකාරයට ඉහළ දමා ජනතාවටත් අමතර බරක් පටවා ඇත. මෙම තෛපොංගල්,  ගොවියන් සහ පාරිභෝගිකයන් අතර සිටින තැරැව්කරුවන්ට පමණක් සතුට පිරි පොංගලක් වී ඇත.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, නව සැලසුම් සහ චින්තනය සමඟින් මෙම වසර නිසැකවම යහපත් වසරක් වනු ඇත. පැණි රස මුසු පොංගල් තුළින්  සියලු දෙනාගේ ජීවිත තුළ  සතුට සහ සාමය ඉතිරේවා.

புதுப்பானை, புத்தரிசி, வாழை, கரும்பு, மாவிலைத்தோரணம், இளம்இஞ்சி, இளநீர், மங்கலமஞ்சள்எனஇனிக்கும்தைப்பொங்கல்நல்வாழ்த்துக்கள். சர்க்கரைபொங்கல், புதுஆடை, கோயில்தரிசனம்எனஎம்மக்கள்அனைவரும்சந்தோசமாகதைப்பொங்கலைகொண்டாடிமகிழுங்கள்.

“பழையனகழிதலும், புதியனபுகுதலும்,” என்கிறநோக்கத்தில், வடகிழக்கில்நாம்தொடங்கியஅபிவிருத்திகளைநிறுத்தி, விவசாயத்திற்குஎவ்விதபயனும்தராதஇந்தஅரசைஅகற்றி, ‘‘தைபிறந்தால்வழிபிறக்கும்,”என்கிறமுன்னோர்கூற்றுப்படிஎம்நாட்டுமக்கள்அனைவரதுவாழ்விலும்;ஒளிபிறக்கும்ஆண்டாகஇவ்ஆண்டுஅமையும்என்பதில்எந்தசந்தேகமும்வேண்டாம். புதியசிந்தனைகளோடும், புதியமுயற்சிகளோடும், பிறந்துள்ளபுத்தாண்டில்நம்பிக்கையோடுஅனைவரதுவாழ்விலும், உள்ளங்களிலும்மகிழ்ச்சிபொங்கி, ஆனந்தம்தங்கிடஇப்பொங்கல்திருநாளைக்கொண்டாடிமகிழ்வோம்.

இந்தவிவசாயநாட்டில், இந்தஅரசாங்கம்விவசாயத்திற்காகநாம்வழங்கியமானியங்களைநிறுத்தியதோடுநில்லாது, நெல்விலையைகுறைத்துவிவசாயிகளுக்கும்,அரிசிவிலையைவரலாறுகாணாதவிலைக்குஏற்றிமக்களுக்கும்பாரியசுமையைதந்துஇருக்கிறது. இந்தபொங்கல்விவசாயிகளுக்கும், நுகர்வோருக்கும்நடுவில்இருக்கும்தரகுகாரர்களுக்குமட்டுமேமகிழ்ச்சியானபொங்கல்.

எவ்வாறாயினும், புதியதிட்டங்களோடும், சிந்தனைகளோடும்இவ்வருடம்சிறந்தவருடமாகஅமையும்என்பதில்நெல்அளவுகூடசந்தேகம்வேண்டாம். சர்க்கரைபொங்கலைபோலஅனைவரின்வாழ்விலும்சந்தோஷமும், அமைதியும்இனிக்கட்டும்.

Pongal Greeting Message

My best wishes to all of you who celebrate the Sweet and Happy Pongal with  new pot, fresh rice, banana, sugarcane, Maavilaithoranam, young ginger and auspicious turmeric. All of our people enjoy and celebrate the Thai Pongalpreparing SakkaraiPongal (Sweet Pongal) andworshiping kovils in new dress.

This year will be the best and bright yearin all of our people’slives. According to our forefathers’statementas “Pave the way for the birth of Jan”, and displace the existing useless government which has intended to act as “old things pass and new things come”, as well as stopped ourNorth-East development work. Also let us celebrate theHappy Thai Pongal and New Year with our new thoughts and efforts, to live a peaceful and joyful life.

The existing government of this agricultural countryhas halted the subsidies that we provided for agricultural purpose, and hasalso given the massive burden to the farmers and people by reducing the price of paddy, and increasing the price of rice up to an unprecedented level’ However, this Pongal has become  the best one only for the middlemen  who play a role between farmers and consumers.

However, there is  no doubt that  this New Year should definitely be a cheerful one with new plans and thoughts. All of our lives will be filled with  delight and peace through  sweet  Sakkarai Pongal.
